1. TERMS & CONDITIONS
1.1 These terms and conditions are the contract between you and Secret Essence Cake Company (“we/us”). By visiting or using Our Website, you agree to all our terms and conditions outlined on our website.
1.2 This site is owned and operated by Secret Essence Cake Boutique Limited. Address: 06, CRATE, Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate, Essex IG11 3TZ. Company Registration No: 12171127.
1.3 (“You”) Anyone who uses Our Website.

2. ORDERING & PAYMENT
2.1 All of our cakes are baked fresh to order and as such we require a minimum of 1 weeks notice for most orders.
2.2 At our discretion cakes can sometimes be made with shorter lead times but please call the shop to enquire if this is possible.
2.3 Please note that when ordering a cake using one of our photos as reference that all our cakes are bespoke and hand made, therefore your cake may differ from the website image due to size variations and details such as colours and decorations.
2.4 A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all cake bookings. For orders over £200 the remainder of your balance must be paid 1 month before your event. The balance on smaller orders can be settled on collection / prior delivery.
2.5 Payment may be made by credit card, debit card, paypal or cash.
2.6 For all cake orders you must fill out our
online booking form, pay a 50% deposit and receive an email confirmation of order from Secret Essence Cake Boutique. If this does not happen your cake order is not confirmed and the selected date and time may be re-allocated.
2.7 In the event that payment is not received by us by the due date, we shall be entitled to suspend order or delivery/collection of cake/s until payment is received and/or terminate the contract.
2.8 All payments payable to us under the Contract shall become due immediately upon termination of the Contract despite any other provision.
3.1 A non-refunable £100 holding deposit secures the date in the diary. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted price is required to confirm your order.
3.2 Final payment of the balance must be made 1 month before the cake is collected/delivered.
3.3 Full payment is required for orders placed with less than 4 weeks notice, payment is non-refundable.
3.4 We are happy to transfer the £100 deposit if you decide to reschedule your wedding or change the date. Date confirmation is subject to availability.
3.5 We are happy to transfer the 50% non-refundable deposit if you decide to reschedule your wedding or change the date (only once) 9-6 months prior original agreed date. (additional charges may apply if work has began or orders have been placed for your cake). Date confirmation is subject to availability.
3.5 Final cake design needs to be confirmed 1 month prior to the wedding date, after this point any changes may incur a charge.
3.6 If delivered and set up by Secret Essence Cake team. We will liaise with either yourself or your wedding planner to confirm a suitable delivery day and time. (Subject to agreement)
3.7 Once the cake has been delivered and set up, we can accept no responsibility for any damage that may have occured by you, venue staff members or event guests.
3.8 If the cake is collected, you will gain full responsibility for the safety of the cake and we will not be responsible for any damage to the cake that may occur after it has left our premises.
4. DELIVERY & COLLECTION
4.1 We offer delivery to Loughton, Essex and the surrounding areas. Deliveries for local orders start at £8. For an accurate delivery quote, please do not hesitate to get in contact with your post code. (Delivery is subject to availability)
4.2 Deliveries can be made between 10am-5pm Monday - Friday. Our delivery service is not available on Saturdays, Sundays, UK public holidays or the day after a public holiday. We may be able to deliver on Saturdays upon special request, for which there will be a charge in addition to our standard delivery charges.
4.3 Delivery and setup is made according to any directions given by the client; i.e. to the address (venue) listed, on the date indicated by email (order form).
4.4 If delivered and set up by Secret Essence Cake team. We will liaise with either yourself or your wedding planner to confirm a suitable delivery day and time. (Subject to agreement)
4.5 Once the cake has been delivered and set up, we can accept no responsibility for any damage that may have occured by you, venue staff members or event guests.
4.6 If there is nobody in to receive the delivery at the scheduled time the cakes will be returned to the shop where it will be available for collection.
4.7 Secret Essence Cake Boutique Ltd can take no responsibility for any damage to your cake after delivery and setup are complete or after you collect from our premises.
4.8 If you or your representative choose to collect and set up the cake, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Secret Essence Cake Boutique Ltd premises.
4.9 If you or your representative choose to pick up the cake from Secret Essence Cake Boutique, timings for collection must be agreed in advance. You will be expected at the arranged collection time. If you need to change the time slot, please contact us first. If you arrive outside the pre-arrange time slot without prior notice you may not be able to collect your cake due to business opening times or staff availability.
5.1 Order amendments or cancellations may be accepted if made 48 hours after you have placed the order and is done 2 weeks before of the intended delivery/collection date (depending on size of order and excluding wedding orders). You will not be able to redeem the 50% non-refundable deposit, but will not be liable to pay the final balance (additional charges may apply if work has began or orders have been placed for your cake).
5.2 Please note a holding/confirmation deposit for a wedding cake is non-refundable. Should you cancel your order more than 1 month before delivery/collection date, any specifically ordered items and work already undertaken in accordance with your order is additionally chargeable. For orders cancelled within 4 weeks of the delivery/collection date, the full balance will be charged.
5.3 Orders placed or cancelled on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays will be treated as having been received on the following working day. To cancel orders, please do so in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org
